Our Zion Trip

My family and I recently took a trip to Zion National Park--the first time for me, but my hubby has been many times.

WOW!  What a gorgeous place!

I took gazillions of photos, of course, and managed to narrow my favorites down to about 85.  I know, I know!!  I'm working on it!  But as I said, Zion was just so beautiful.

Anyway, rather than clog the "airways" here, I thought I'd just give you a link to my Flickr site where you can see the lot.  If you like.

Enjoy, and thanks for reading!

  2. Thanks! They were truly unbelievable. My dad and I saw faces in the rocks everywhere. It was funny that you said that too!

And yes, you are right---the whole area from Zion and Bryce all the way down to Grand Canyon were all under water at some point thousands of years ago.

I learned something new while we were there: That the 3 parks, Bryce, Zion, and the Grand Canyon all form a "Grand Staircase", sharing the same rock formations. The bottom-most layer of Bryce is the same strata as the top-most layer of Zion, and the bottom layer of Zion is the top layer of the Grand Canyon. Very cool!
